Promenade Ballet School is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9-level program that combines high-quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels.

Pre-Primary through Level 7 and Partnering will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher Jeehyun Liz Kim, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 7 and Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

PBS emphasizes personalized guidance within a welcoming and collaborative community. We believe ballet education should foster strength, confidence, independence, and a meaningful artistic voice, while celebrating each dancer’s unique journey.

Jeehyun Liz Kim

Liz began her ballet training at the Korean National Ballet Academy in Seoul, South Korea. She continued her studies at Canada’s National Ballet School under Laurel Toto and Christopher Kiss, and at the Claude Watson Secondary Arts Program, where she trained with Roz Ornstein and Tara Lee Blight. She later completed her graduate studies at New York University Steinhardt in Dance Education, specializing in Ballet Pedagogy.

Liz is an ABT® Certified Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 7 and Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Liz has dedicated her professional career to ballet education. She has extensive experience teaching young dancers in Seoul and New York, assisted classes at the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School Children’s Division, and worked with the ABT National Training Curriculum Student Examinations alongside the distinguished faculty of the ABT NTC team. Her teaching is grounded in careful progression, musicality, and strong technical foundations, while nurturing artistry, discipline, and confidence in every student.

In addition to her dance background, Liz is a certified kindergarten and elementary educator with experience in international schools, including Branksome Hall Asia. She believes deeply in the transformative power of education and is committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where children grow with confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love of learning.
